From October 30th to November 1st, the 10th Asia International Symposium on Mechatronics (AISM 2025) was held in Xi’an. The event was organized by several schools and State Key Laboratories of Xidian University (XDU). Academician Baoyan Duan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering served as the Conference Chair. The symposium aims to build a platform for academic exchange and technological cooperation in the field of mechatronics across Asia and worldwide, promoting innovation and development in the industry.
Over 300 experts, scholars, and XDU students and faculty members from School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering attended the event. Academician Duan welcomed all participants. He encouraged participants to make full use of this opportunity for exchange and actively share ideas about the mechatronics field. Jun Guo said that XDU has always followed the belief of “serving the nation through science and technology,” which fits well with AISM’s goal of connecting academic excellence with real-world applications. He expressed his hope that the symposium would inspire innovative thinking and contribute to building a future that technology benefits humanity.
During the keynote sessions, eight scholars gave their presentations: Prof. Zheng Hong (George) Zhu from York University (Canada), Prof. Yoong Choon Chang from UTAR (Malaysia), Prof. Akio Yamamoto from the University of Tokyo (Japan), Prof. Tomoaki Mashimo from Okayama University (Japan), Prof. Xiaoping Zhang from Macau University of Science and Technology (China), Prof. Shijie Guo from Hebei University of Technology (China), Prof. Chao Gao from Zhejiang University (China), and Prof. Ruichan Lü from Xidian University (China). Their reports focused on key topics in the mechatronics field, including electro-mechanical coupling theory for electronic equipment, AI-driven design methods for mechatronic systems, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies. They also engaged in in-depth discussions with other participants.
